Participant, Sharer, Contributor, or Collaborator…

Which one are you? Better question, which one would you like to be? The Melanin Bump cannot be a success without four types of supporters. In this post, each will be defined and explained.

The Participant…

When you join the collection to be featured and to receive a maternity shoot, you are a participant. You are taking part in the movement by being one of the many Melanin Bumps. As a participant, you are supported and cared for by the believers and contributors to this project. Participants receive complimentary hair, nails, and makeup to be photo-ready for their special maternity shoot. Depending on the number of interested Bumps, participants may be photographed with a collective group of Melanin Bumps.

The Sharer…

While you may not have a bump to photograph, or might be budgeting, unable to give to the project, getting the word out and spreading awareness about the Melanin Bump movement is the task of the Sharer. The photo collection needs fans and believers to talk up this initiative, helping to change the narrative about Melanin Bumps. Sharers share and use the power of word of mouth to build this collection with more participants, sharers, contributors, and collaborators.

The Contributor…

If you have money to give to support the movement to shine a light on these amazing Melanin Bumps, assist the collections’ photographer to make this possible for Moms to Be, and gift a day of self-care for these Melanin Mommas, you are a Contributor, As I mentioned in Why the Project Needs Contributors, “there is no such thing as a free lunch.” Everything has a price tag and nothing can be paid for with ‘thoughts and prayer”, “good lucks”, and/or “keep up the good work”. The project needs contributors to cover expenses to make this all possible and to continue to contribute to the households that are participating in the bringing to life the vision and mission of this photo series.

The Collaborator…

Bringing talent and skillsets that can help take this project to the next level, makes you a collaborator. Collaborators, their logos, brands, social media details are featured on the “Collaborators” page for cross-marketing. We work together to build each other’s brands while building this project for more Melanin Bumps to be captured and more Melanin Mommas to be cared for during their pregnancy. Campaign budgeting will include compensation for any collaborator who participates in building the photo collection’s brand. Artists and talented professionals will never eat/survive off of exposure and definitely have expenses to make magic happen. It is the responsibility of conscious and mindful business practices that pays expenses incurred to execute the maternity shoots, pays those who render services for the Melanin Bumps and pays those who provide services that propel this project to the next level.

There you have it. The four main supporters, what they are, and how they help the project. The photo collection needs a community and squadron of people who will help raise awareness, build this collection, and believe in the power of The Melanin Bump.
